Hey, does anyone here know about the MST3k-related fanfiction AU I was writing? Well... I continue to dabble around with that thing whenever I'm burned out on my 'real' fanfiction,* and I... somehow managed to write a new chapter. Look behind the cut(s) (I figured no one here was following the original story, so I posted the first two chapters as well).

These proved too big to fit in just one journal, so this one is just the old first chapter.

Note: It does improve slightly after the this chapter, which is mainly infodump.

Actually, that's not all, because this situation, narcissistically enough, reminds me of a scene from a WIP I'm working on. Wrote this months ago. It turned out to be oddly prophetic (actually, to be truthful, I was projecting my feelings on David Cook into it even back then, because he's bugged me all season but AAANYWAAAAY) I thought it made a good excuse for posting a fanfiction 'sneak peek' so, without further ado:

( Only a few sentences in this have anything to do with American Idol. )

Note: Though the scene was inspired by David Cook, that's not the actual contestant Zim is complaining about as the fic takes place in 2003 for several rather complicated reasons.

First, I have to warn that a) the markers I used on this had dark, funky colors, and it wrecked it b) this picture isn't on dA because it has Both Syllables spoilers, FYI c) there is a similar but much better picture by ckret2, but they're both based off the intro to Invader Zim. So I thought it was okay. If I thought wrong, please say so.

Went on a bit of an icon-making spree today.


XR is sad.

Now he's SERIOUS.

XR and the LGMs demonstrate their knowledge of classic literature with some fictional words from Watership Down. Bonus points if you know what they mean.


Now XR is shocked.

Now Strong Bad feels driven to protect his catchphrase.

Now Homestar wishes to assert the fact that he can spell his own name.

Now Strong Bad pimps his comic.

And asserts his hatred of Homsar.

And XR denies the existence of Santa Claus.

Not to be outdone, Zim throws a screaming fit just for the heck of it.

And is very dismayed.

In other news... we'e getting sheep this Friday! 8D And a few weeks ago, we got chicks. We have 25 minichickens sitting out in the foyer in a bin with a heat lamp right now.

They're actually kinda gross |D; but they'll taste good when we butcher them in June.

HP 620lx. It's a palmtop. A little bitty computer, with little bitty capabilities. I use it to type fics and play card games. That's all, and that's all I want from it. Until.
Until one day, I want to upgrade the crappy basic Solitaire game I have on it and get Spider. Spider. I like that card game. It's my favorite. And it's- apparently- available for download, in palmtop format, in a lot of different places.
Until you actually try to download and install it and get fifteen freakin' different error messages with NOTHING to show for it.
